Machine Tool
This program is designed to provide students with entry level skills for career opportunities in the machine tool field. The students will gain technical knowledge and skill in the set-up and operation of the vertical and horizontal milling machines, engine lathes, surface grinders, EDM machines, drill presses, band saws, and other support equipment. In addition, the student will receive varied instruction in safety, measuring, shop math, inspection and metallurgy, and introduction to CNC (computerized numerical controlled) machines. Both laboratory and project-based learning will be used extensively. Students will develop important team skills necessary for employment and advancement and will have the opportunity to examine options in machining.
